Mac Meeting Minutes

The meeting was opened by President, Bobbie Batchelder at 2 p.m.

Treasurers Report was given by Shirley Coster.
Bank balance as of 12/31/11 $782.72
Deposit dues 1/31/12 $148
Deposit dues 3/30/12 $116
New balance 3/30/12 $1046.72

Monies due out: Pam Short will be reimbursed $29 for a VGA adapter needed for our presentations and to Lake Havasu Baptist Church in the amount of $150 as a gift for use of this room.

A motion was made by Jocelyn Winkel to increase our gift to LHBC to $200. It was seconded by Jim Bowen. After some discussion the motion was amended for our Board to discuss the increase.

Paul had iphone tips that he has put together and he handed out some copies.
The next meeting will be May 8. Senator Ron Gould may be here to speak with us. He will be speaking on internet security.

Bill Coleman held the drawing for 5 door prizes.

Jean presented information on the Mac Trojan Flashback and how to find out if you are infected with this new Virus. She also showed us how to tell if our system is 32 bit or 64 bit.
Flashback Trojan: use terminal in applications under utitilies. It's only important for those who are getting the newest programs and operating systems. Click here for Jean's Notes.
Jean warned not to follow messages that says you need to update your software. When your software needs updates, go directly to the Apple site to download the update. Or, you can use the software update on the drop down menu under the APPLE to look for updates. You can also find software updates under preferences. You can schedule update from there as to how often it will check the Apple site.
