Mac Meeting Minutes
|Bobbie Batchelder, President, opened the meeting at 2 p.m.. We are now using a microphone system so everyone can hear.
The attendance sheet was passed around by Tucker Culver, Treasurer.
Bobbie talked about the library. When you check out a book, please check it back in on the library log when you return it.
Bill Coleman passed out raffle tickets.
We had one visitor, Patti Matt, in attendance today.
Bobbie started the meeting by introducing the high school students to whom we gave the awards. They came to share with us about their trip to the national web site competition in Kansas City, Missouri. There was only one other competitor with a Mac. The competition was to redesign an existing website for a charity organization. They placed 6th out of 30. They received a spirit award and will receive a recommendation to include in their college application. They are looking forward to next year's competition.
Bobbie showed a hard drive that has been taken apart for demonstration. It will be on the back table if you would like to look at what's inside.
Dick Rummage is at home now and doing good. He has in-home help. He thanks all for their e-mail notes and well wishes.
Tucker gave the Treasurer's report. The bank balance is $600.97 and petty cash is $39. Bobbie has purchased several goodies for our raffle at bargin prices.
Shirley Coster, Secretary, read the minutes for last month's meeting.
Ernie Tripp, Vice President, let us know that school will be starting before our next meeting, so he won't be here regularly.
Bobbie explained that the raffle tickets are given out to visitors their first time here. Members get two tickets. One is used for the general raffle and the other is for the members only raffle at the end of the meeting.
We still need a publicity chairperson. All you have to do is send an e-mail reminder to the radio stations each month before the meeting.
Our next meeting will be on 8/11.
Bobbie asked the group if we wanted more online demonstrations. She has a lead on a class in January. Also, please e-mail Bobbie any suggestions for meeting programs. It is hard to continue to think up things to demonstrate without some suggestions from all of you.
Bobbie opened the floor to individual questions.
